Ensayo de metabolismo dialéctico: De la autonomía biológica al metabolismo social del capital

En los últimos lustros encontramos una serie de inflexiones teóricas en torno a los significantes “materia” y “naturaleza” en el campo de las humanidades. Estos desplazamiento se relacionan con fenómenos históricos e incluso histórico-naturales. Reflejan, ante todo, la creciente preocupación por las fronteras planetarias en disrupción, la crisis ambiental escalante y, en particular, el cambio climático. En este trabajo voy a presentar algunas reflexiones sobre los conceptos de autonomía biológica y metabolismo social en relación esta nueva atención a la vida material encarnada en la teoría humanística. Voy a reconstruir en paralelo algunos aspectos metabólicos del capitalismo en la teoría marxista y una concepción biológica (el enfoque enactivo) centrada en la autonomía del ser vivo. El primer eje refiere a las formas de reproducción social-material bajo la lógica de la acumulación. El segundo, al vínculo profundo entre subjetividad y metabolismo corporal. Trataré de registrar algunos paralelismos y zonas de articulación posible entre estos dos conceptos. Voy a sugerir que una “dialéctica del metabolismo” expresa algunos paralelos lógicos entre la filosofía de la biología y la crítica del capital. Esta dialéctica articula tres instancias lógicas, cifradas en los conceptos de anidamiento, desacople del nivel emergente y colapso de la jerarquía ontológica. Estos tres niveles de análisis se dan en paralelo, pero sin identidad conceptual plena, en los dominios de la autonomía biológica y el metabolismo social moderno.
In recent decades, we have seen a series of theoretical shifts around the signifiers “matter” and “nature” in the field of the humanities. These shifts are related to historical and even historicalnatural phenomena. Above all, they reflect the growing concern about the disruption of planetary boundaries, the escalating environmental crisis, including in particular, climate change. In this paper, I will present some reflections on the concepts of biological autonomy and social metabolism in relation to this renewed attention to embodied material life in humanistic theory. I will reconstruct in parallel some metabolic aspects of capitalism in Marxist theory and a biological conception (the enactive approach) centered on the autonomy of living beings. The first axis refers to forms of social-material reproduction under the logic of accumulation. The second refers to the deep link between subjectivity and bodily metabolism. I will try to record some parallels and areas of possible articulation between these two concepts. I will suggest that a “dialectic of metabolism” expresses some logical parallels between the philosophy of biology and the critique of capital. This dialectic articulates three logical instances, encoded in the concepts of nesting, decoupling of the emergent level,and collapse of the ontological hierarchy. These three levels of analysis occur in parallel, but without full conceptual identity, in the domains of biological autonomy and modern social metabolism.
