Descripción
Trabajo presentado al VIII International Symposium on Pear. Ferrara, Bologna, (Italia). 4-7 Septiembre, 2000
The excellent ecological conditions for pear production in the Rio Negro Valley make production of organic fruits possible. The area is free of fire blight and pear psylla is a minor problem. Currently, nearly 300 ha are devoted to organic production of pears. The National Institute for Agriculture Technology (INTA) at the Rio Negro Valley Experiment Station is involved in a program where the objectives are: 1) to provide technical support to growers and fruit companies, and 2) to study under laboratory and field condition new approaches of management practices in two main fields: plant nutrition and pest control.
