Within the North Patagonian Massif, the western sector of the Curacó Batholith, located 15 km northeast of the town of El Cuy, in the Trica-Có area, constitutes the study area of this research. The study is aimed at understanding the relationship between pyroclastic and plutonic rocks and interpreting their magmatic evolution. To achieve this, ASTER satellite imagery analysis, field mapping, and detailed petrographic studies were integrated, combining remote sensing tools. Through digital image processing, igneous units and zones of mineral alteration were successfully discriminated, allowing the establishment of a preliminary model of lithological distribution. Subsequent field and laboratory validation confirmed the effectiveness of the method, demonstrating its usefulness for delineating contacts and characterizing igneous bodies at the surface. The analyses reveal lithological differences and intrusive relationships among the exposed igneous units. Although the methodology employed does not include absolute geochronological tools, the observed characteristics and field relationships are consistent with U-Pb radiometric dating in zircons reported by González et al. (2023). Within this framework, the exposed pyroclastic rocks are interpreted as corresponding to the Permian Choiyoi magmatism, whereas the granitoids belong to the Triassic plutonic cycle of the Curacó Batholith. The contact between both groups is interpreted as intrusive, with the ignimbrites constituting the country rock of the batholith. This interpretation, supported by petrographic and structural observations, redefines the genetic relationship between the units and allows for the lithostratigraphic separation of both magmatic events. The studied ignimbrites exhibit notable textural variation, ranging from rheomorphic rhyolitic facies with welded fiammes and flow textures, to fragmental and devitrified dacitic varieties. The presence of secondary minerals such as chlorite, epidote, prehnite, pumpellyite, and sericite indicates alteration processes and contact metamorphism associated with the emplacement of the batholith. The dataset obtained made it possible to produce an updated geological map that synthesizes the distribution of igneous rocks and the structural relationships of the area. This product represents a contribution to regional cartography and an advance in the understanding of the magmatic evolution of the North Patagonian Massif.
