Cancer de cervix : incidencia segun edad y estadio tumoral

Introducción: El cáncer de cérvix uterino es uno de los más frecuentes en la población femenina sobretodo en países subdesarrollados. De ahí la gran importancia de obtener estadísticas regionales actualizadas para demostrar la disminución de la edad de presentación de esta patología. Material Y métodos: Se ha realizado un estudio retrospectivo de todas las pacientes que consultaron al servicio de terapia radiante del Hospital J. R. Vidal en el período febrero 2000 y diciembre 2002. Se obtuvo información de historias clínicas y fichas de consultorio de 219 pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer de cérvix, de mama y endometrio. Resultados: De las 219 pacientes 148 pertenecen al grupo de cáncer de cérvix, 13 pacientes pertenecen al grupo de cáncer de endometrio y 58 pacientes pertenece al grupo de cáncer de mama. De las pacientes con cáncer de cérvix el mayor porcentaje se ubico en el rango de 45-54 años con un 30,4% (45 pacientes), a él le sigue el rango de 35-44 años con un 25,7% (38 pacientes) y el porcentaje más bajo fue de 4% para el rango de 75-84 años. Discusión: Se demostró que edad de presentación del cáncer de cérvix uterino, encontrándose que la población de mujeres entre los 25 y 55 años era el rango etario más afectado por esta patología . A su vez los estadios más avanzados fueron los que prevalecieron hablándonos esto de un deficiente sistema de prevención.
Introduction: The cancer of uterine cérvix is one of the most frequent in the feminine population ove rall in underdeveloped countries. The great importance of obtaining regional statistics updated to de monstrate the decrease of the age of presentation of this pathology. Material And methods : There has been realized a retrospective study of all the patients that they con sulted to the service of radiant therapy of the Hospital J. R. Vidal in the period February, 2000 and December, 2002. There were obtained information of case histories and medical files of 219 patients with diagnosis of cervical cancer , of breast and endometrio. Results: Of 219 patients 148 belong to the group of cervical cancer, 13 patients belong to the group of cancer of endometrio and 58 patients it belongs to the group of breast cancer. Of the patients with cervical cancer the biggest percentage was located in the status of 45-54 years with 30,4 % (45 pa tients), it is followed by the status of 35-44 years with 25,7 % (38 patients) and the lowest percentage it was 4 % for the status of 75-84 years. Discussion : It was demonstrated that age of presentation of the cervical cancer, being that the popu lation of women between 25 and 55 years was the status of years more affected by this pathology. However the most advanced stadiums were those that prevailed., showing to us the deficient system of prevention.
